THE ROLE AND PERFORMANCE OF

ANIMALS PRODUCTION IN ETHIOPIA

Abstract

The study has assessed the current performance and complications in the animals sector of Ethiopia, a country endowed which has a huge animals resources and animal genetic diversity. The key purpose of the research is to show that the livestock sector has a huge ability to develop and contribute to the Ethiopian economy in the event given more attention and exploited properly. The conclusion from the study is that, although livestock is considerably contributing to the Ethiopian economic climate, the huge animals resource and potential from the country have not yet been efficiently utilized and the country has until now failed to gain from these resources due to policy, technical, institutional, marketing, and sociocultural limitations. Finally, the possible suggestions suggested to boost livestock production include expense in reference and development of the animals sector, powerful value cycle co-ordination and development, trustworthy input and service procedures, the adjusting and reorienting of the animals production and marketing systems, and improvement in plans.
